Woodworking group for seniors (55 and older) has 900 sq. ft. workshop in the Seniors Centre in Fredericton. Annual dues are $35. The shop operates with supervisor 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday, from Sept. to June. Members can work on hobby crafts and small furniture repairs and other special projects. The club currently has 100 member.

Over 40 members attend meetings held at Middleton Regional High School every Thursday evening from Sept. to June to share carving ideas, show projects and sharpen tools. Annual dues are $16.50, plus $1 ticket for a tool draw each night. Informal courses are held each year for beginners. Member library has more than 300 books.

Members of the guild build model ships and meet the first Wednesday of the month, September to June. Meetings held at the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic include a show-and-tell and guest speakers. Annual dues are $20. Members sail their crafts on a local pond on Sundays from May to October, weather permitting. Volunteer team of 14 people at the Maritime Museum working on Canard Lines.

This group has about 110 active members across the country. Dues are $25 annually plus $5 initiation. It meets 10 times a year in Humber College and Lee Valley in Toronto. It also hosts two competitions, one for beginners and one for advanced members. Workshops are held twice a year and are open to the public.
