April 2004 - Decked Out
The latest hardware and accessories to complete your deck

A host of special hardware is available to set the support posts, secure the frame and to connect posts and railings. To lay down your decking, use spiral-groove or ring-shank nails, deck fasteners or screws—whether you choose fasteners in stainless steel, hot-dipped galvanized, coated, aluminum or another material will depend on your choice of lumber and the climate. As well, low-voltage or solar lighting adds safety and style to your deck in the evening, while decorative post caps can help to protect posts from rain and rot.
