BENT INTO SHAPE (part 3) |
After assembling all
the twigs, you'll need:
1. Screw
together two sets of front and back legs (one for each
side) with side braces and a top seat brace. Make sure
both sets are the same height. |
2,3. Connect
the two sides together with two top braces at the front
of the chair. Add a rear seat brace 5" to 6"
ahead of the back legs, then add two lower back cross
braces 6" and 8" from the bottom of the back
leg. Add the back bender brace just above seat level,
then the top cross brace. The armrest nailer piece goes
18" up from the bottom and the front cross brace
goes behind the front legs, near the bottom. |
4. Use
your knee to carefully work the smaller-diameter benders
into shape. |
5. Nail
one arm bender to each side of the chair and adjust
them for fit. |
6. Create
the armrests by securing the rest of the arm benders
in the shape of the first. |
7, 8. Lay
out the perimeter of the head rest with hoop benders. |
9. Attach
the seat bars to the front and rear seat braces. |

10. Fill
in the back with back benders. |
