Begin by removing the existing trim. Score the paint at the ceiling joint with a utility knife to help break the trim’s bond.

A flat prybar makes short work of removing the trim. If you intend to reuse it, take your time. Remove all remaining nails to make way for the new ceiling panels. These are from Outwater Plastics.

Measure for the required length of the panel, being sure to leave a slight gap for expansion. Make sure the new trim will cover the gap, however, even if the plastic shrinks a bit in winter.

Transfer your measurement to the panelling for cutting.

A sliding mitre saw is perfect for cutting the 12"-wide sections, although a jigsaw would work too.
