How to install a dishwasher

Send to a friend

* marked fields are required.

Say goodbye to dishpan hands by adding the luxury of a dishwasher to your kitchen. And feel good about this green project: this upgrade is better for water conservation. (On average, dishwashers use 1/6 less water than handwashing.)

zSteps102228.jpgStep 10: Drive screws through the bracket into the underside of the counter-top to prevent the machine from tipping forward when the door is open.

Step 11: Attach the dishwasher's hot-water supply line to a T-fitting on the hot-water supply under the sink. New construction will likely have this fitting. If you are working in an older home, you may need to add a T-fitting.

Step 12: The dishwasher's drain line clamps to the sink drain. New homes will likely already have a Y-type attachment point. In older homes, you will have to install a section of PVC drainpipe to include this fitting.

Congratulations, you're finished!
