How to install a dishwasher

* marked fields are required.

Say goodbye to dishpan hands by adding the luxury of a dishwasher to your kitchen. And feel good about this green project: this upgrade is better for water conservation. (On average, dishwashers use 1/6 less water than handwashing.)

zSteps102225.jpgTip: Dishwashers with stainless-steel tubs will typically last longer and need to have the interior cleaned less often!

Step 1: Some homes will have a dishwasher circuit already wired; if not, have an electrician add one. Either way, turn off the power before starting.

Step 2: Drill a hole in the floor where the dishwasher will be located. Keep it close to the cabinet wall.

Step 3: Fish the power-supply wire from the breaker panel (in this case, located in the basement) to get it to the area where the dishwasher will be located.
