Trowel a layer of thinset on top of the mat. Take care not to damage the heating wires as you level the thinset by running the trowel parallel to the wires.
These tiles were installed on a solid concrete base so no preparation was required. The rigidity of the base is very important in preventing future cracks. Ensure the base is completely solid before laying tiles. Each tile should be level with the next. If the floor is not level, use more (or less) thinset to make small adjustments in the level as you go. Tile spacers will keep grout lines consistent.
Use a float to push grout into spaces between tiles.
Wipe away excess grout with a damp sponge.
A thin bead of caulking makes a clean connection between the bathtub and the finished floor.
