Lay the mat over the floor and use a grout float to smooth it down, eliminating any air pockets. A minimum of 80 per cent of the mat should have thinset adhered to its underside.
Continue to apply the thinset in small sections and roll out the mat as you go.
Cut a small hole in the drywall at the bottom of the wall to fish the wires through.
Feed the wire from the bottom. This step is most easily accomplished by pushing a semi-rigid fishing tape down from the top and pulling the wire up through the top opening. Now, connect the wires to the thermostat.
Fasten the probe wires flat against the floor with electrical tape.
Lay the probe on top of the mat about 12" in from the edge. Position the sensor in place between two mat wires.
